A vegan hazelnut coffee recipe with a cultural twist! This Turkish Style vegan Hazelnut coffee is one decadent homemade cup of coffee! It’s easy to make on the stove top, made with simple ingredients, and dairy free. A creamy vegan coffee drink to sip and savor!
Have you ever tried Turkish Style Coffee? I mean, like the real deal? It doesn’t involve hazelnut creamer, but it does involve sweetening it, then cooking on the stove until it’s nice and frothy. The taste is similar to espresso, rich yet still a perfect “shot” of coffee to sip on. Well friends, I think you’re gonna like where I’m going with this today. Turkish Style Vegan Hazelnut Coffee, a little bit of cultural coffee fusion to make your coffee morning moment better! No to mention more ROBUST!
You see, you all know that I my father in law owned a coffee farm in Hawaii, right? Remember, I spoke about my love for it in my Thai Iced Vegan Coffee recipe. Anyway, that kinda made me a coffee snob. I blame my husband. But the good news is it EXPANDED my horizon when it came to preparing coffee. That is without losing it’s quality or making it super duper sugar loaded. I learned it’s all about process and that a little goes a long way. I also learned that the type of coffee BEAN you use is crucial and that adding creamer (or in this case, dairy free vegan hazelnut creamer) is even better when heated on the stove! Turkish style coffee is pretty much AWESOME for practicing that!
Today I’m going to make you fall in love with you morning routine with this Turkish Style Coffee recipe using Dairy Free Hazelnut So Delicious Creamer. The Oh so Yummy So Delicious dairy free creamer came from those beautiful red isles. You know where that is, right? TARGET! Target has a whole new line of Better for you Coffee Creamers (organic and dairy free) in the dairy section. But I am warning you….. they disappear FAST! Like real fast!
Okay, before we jump to this vegan hazelnut coffee recipe, let me first let me explain how you make traditional Turkish Style Coffee. And then I’ll explain how I tweaked it, just a tad.
Turkish Coffee, or some may call this Greek coffee, is made on the stop stop with a Greek briki (a small of pot with a long handle that’s used to boil coffee). Turkish coffee creates a froth on its surface almost like an espresso. It’s also notable for the way it’s ground. You gotta make it SUPER FINE ya’ll! I blended a my Arabica coffee beans a little longer in the coffee grinder, until it almost turned into a powder.
The coffee is then simmered (or soft boiled) with the water and sugar, but in this case, I subbed the extra sugar with so delicious vegan hazelnut coffee creamer. After simmering, the coffee is not filtered out.
Now here’s where I tweak it. I did not use a Bikri, obviously. Instead I used a small pot on the stove and add in a vegan hazelnut coffee creamer, to make it even more frothier. Yes, my tweak still AMAZING! I may be bias.
But don’t worry, you won’t actually drink the grinds at the bottom. Trust me, it works and is SOOOOO good!
I know, I know. You’re thinking… “coffee.. on a stove and unfiltered?” Yes, it’s SO easy, yum, and extra fancy without actually being fancy! You’ll get a homemade coffee shop drink in less than 10 minutes. It’s free, it’s made with SO SIMPLE and real ingredients, and it’s quite cozy and delicious!!

Ingredients
- 1-2 tbsp finely ground (powdered) arabica coffee (or dark roast)
- 8-10 oz purified filtered water
- 1 tsp coconut sugar
- 1/8 to 1/4 c Vegan Hazelnut Coffee Creamer
- pinch of nutmeg
- optional 1 tsp Vanilla extract
Instructions
- First grind your coffee beans into a very fine coffee powder. A grinder works, just hold down and keep grinder for a while.
- Next place your water into a small pot. Add 1-2 tbsp of your coffee powder and your sugar.
- Let the coffee sink to the bottom of the pot and then dissolve the sugar with the water.
- Heat the coffee on low until you get a soft boil. You will start to see a foam on top.
- Once that happens, add in your vegan cream. Let it come back up to a soft boil, then remove immediately and pour into demi cups or small glass cups.
- leave the "sludge" at the bottom of the pan.
- Scoop any extra foam on top into your cups.
- Sprinkle with nutmeg.
- If adding Vanilla, do so with the sugar.
- Enjoy!
